Kellie
Wood

Screenwriter and comedic personal essayist Kellie Wood recently opened for author David Sedaris at a number of readings in the Tri-State area, New England, and the Southeast and South Central US.

(Perhaps you were one of the several thousand people who saw her read live onstage on that tour in spots like Virginia, New Hampshire, and Austin, TX.)

She continues to build a portfolio of accolades for her screenwriting and as a writer/performer of funny personal stories.

In 2025, she placed third in the national Mark Twain Royal Nonesuch Humor Writing Contest for her essay "God loves Beyonce more than me."

Her screenplay "Tomboy" was named a semi-finalist in Creative Screenwriting's Unique Voices contest.

Kellie Wood studied comedy at New York's Upright Citizens Brigade (2024 UCB Diversity Program Member) and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dramatic Writing from Purchase College, SUNY.

By day, Kellie is a professional grantwriter and copywriter based in NYC, where she uses her storytelling skills to meaningfully support non-profits.

She's currently working on a new screenplay and a series of comedic personal essays that may eventually become a book.
